means a meadow of flowers, and it was undoubtedly its pristine beauty that
enthused the British to select it as a summer resort.
Flanked by the
Apherwat
Mountains
and the Khoilanmarg ridge and glacier, Gulmarg is located at an altitude of 8,799
feet. Most of the settlements in the township, which comprise of a small bazaar, a
number of hotels and a few quaint cottages, are on the rim of the flower filled
basin which give it its name.

golfing , fishing ,Gulmarg is well suited for
learning skiing. It has some of the best slopes for beginners and intermediate
