Aihole was the
cultural capital of the early Chalukyas of Badami who ruled from
Badami during 6th –8th centuries AD. This village is of great
architectural interest containing more than a hundred temples, most of
the temples are dedicated to Vishnu, some of them were later on
converted to Shaivite shrines temple dedicated toJain divinities could
also be seen here , built in different styles and periods, built in

grandeur of Chalukya architecture. To a visitor, a visit to this
architectural beauty is a must. The town is considered to be the birth
place of Indian architectural styles.
