Bangaluru - Bangalore the popular Garden City...Silicon Valley of India ... is the capital of Karnataka state was founded by Kempegowda, a petty chieftain, around 1537 with the construction of a mud fort ,but paved in stone by Tipu in the 18th century. This Fort, close to the city market, within its premises is a Ganapathi Temple belonging to the sixteenth century. 

Beside the fort, is the wonderful fort palace constructed by Haider Ali and Tipu Sultan, famous for its woodcarvings and paintings. It is a fine example of Dravidian architecture. Bangalore was under the control of Hyder Ali in 1761 and later his illustrious son Tipu Sultan, the ‘Tiger of Mysore’.

Bangalore attractions include the Mahatma Gandhi Road, better known as MG Road is one of the arterial roads of Bangalore. Along with Brigade Road and Residency Road, MG Road forms the most happening 'H' in Bangalore. This entire zone is truly a shopper's paradise.Bangalore has also emerged as a major commercial center and a large number of industries and trading houses have moved here. 

Places of Tourist Interest 

Vidhana Soudha

One of the most prominent landmarks of the city,The Vidhan Soudha  Built in 1958, this is the Secretariat and used by the state legislature. This building is standing tribute to the Indian Temple architecture and the Pride of Bangalore. It is an impressive, neo-Dravidian structure built of Bangalore granite like the Public Library and the High Court are located here. It’s a treat to watch it floodlit, on Sunday nights.  

Cubbon Park

Cubbon This beautiful 300 acre park built by Lieutenant General Sir Mark Cubbon in 1864, located in the heart of the city is the Cubbon Park . is named after This beautiful 300 acre park. There is a Government Museum that exhibits the ancient weapons, stone carvings, pottery, painting and relics of the 5000-year-old Mohenjo-Daro civilization.  

Lalbagh 

Tipu was found of good living, and palaces throughout his state. The Lal Bagh Gardens , the south of Bangalore , were initially laid out by Hyder Ali but developed by developed by Tipu Sultan. Covering an extensive area of 96 hectares, the gardens have a rare collection of tropical and sub-tropical plants.

Usloor Lake 

This lake being one of the eight lakes built by Kempe Gowda around then Bangalore is spread over an area of 1.5 sq.km. Dotted with picturesque tiny islands, it provides a welcome break from busy sightseeing and shopping. One can take boat rides or just watch the cool ripples of the exotic lake

Tipu's Summer Palace  

Thpu Sultan’s summer palace on Albert Victor Road was completed in 1791 and closely resembles his palace at Srirangapatanam. It is an elegant two storey wooden structure with ornate pillars, balconies, arches and a well-maintained garden. was begun by Hyder Ali and completed by Tipu Sultan This palace took ten years to complete. Though called by Tipu Sultan as ‘Lask-e-Jannat’ meaning the envy of heaven… there is not much to see here

Venkataramanswamy Temple

Temple near Tipu's palace was built by Chikka Deva Raja Wodeyar nearly 300 years ago, in the typical Dravidian style.

Iskon Temple

The ISKCON temple is situated at Hare Krishna Hill. was built recently by the International Society for Krishan Consciousness. As you climb the granite steps you will encounter three small shrines The three idols of Lord Krishna in the main shrine are made of brass. The three idols of Lord Krishna in the main shrine are you can relax in the sylvan surroundings of the temple and feel one with the almighty

The Fort and Tipu Sultan's Palace

Built initially in 1537 by Kempe Gowda as a crude mud structure, it was rebuilt by Hyder Ali in 1761. In this fort hyder Ali had imprisoned David Baird along with a number of British army officers. the fort has well preserved Ganapati temple within it's precincts and the temple on the outer wall carries exquisite carvings of Sri Krishna playing his flute and inside, there is a fine statue of Lord Ganesh which still attracts devotees. Near the fort is Tipu's palace, begum by Hyder Ali and completed by Tipu Sultan in 1791. It resembles Daria Daulat Palace of Srirangapatnam.

Durgah Of Hazrat Tawakkal Mastan Shah Suharawardi

Situated in the heart of Cottonpet this Muslim saint's shrine has been associated with the Hindu festival of 'Kangra'. The famous Kangra procession, while passing through the city, visits the 'Durgah' of the sufi saint Tawakkal Mastan whose tomb attracts thousands of both Muslims and non-Muslims.

Gangadhareswara Cave Temple

Built by Kempe Gowda, this temple with four remarkable monolithic pillars, is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It also has a rare idol of Agni, God of fire.

Bull Temple (Basavanagudi Mandir)


Situated on the majestic Bugle hill, this temple was constructed by Kempe Gowda,in  Dravidian style of architecture Bangalore ’s founder. There is a huge Nandi bull here over 500 years old. It is 5m (16.5 ft) high and 6m (20ft) long, carved from a single stone. Also there is a Ganesh temple, with a large deity made of 110 kg of butter

Jumma Masjid

Oldest Mosque built Mughal Killedar, was damaged by cannon fire during the Mysore war and renovated in 1836.

St Mary's Cathedral

Built by French missionary in 1882 AD it is a grand Basillica  with an impressive tower and typically gothic pointed arches.  

Climate 

The climate of Bangalore is very fine it is never too hot -never to cold .

The best time to visit ; Throughout the year. (Sep. to March is the best time)
