About 90 Kms from Chandigarh . Aboce of Gurudwara  is set picturesquely on the left bank of the river Sutlej . The magnificent mountain range of Naina Devi in its backdrop further enhances the beauty of this major Sikh pilgrim centre.  The city was founded in 1665, by Guru Tegh Bahadurji, near the ruins of an ancient place called Makhowal.  Guru Gobind Singh ji, the tenth Sikh Guru (1666 – 1708), spent about 25 years of his life over here and under him the town attained great importance. The annual Sikh festival of Hola Mohalla is the main event of Anandpur Sahib. The highlight of the celebrations is the spectacular display of martial traditions by the Nihangs.   Places of Interest

Guru-ka-mahal : Gt built by Guru Teg Bahadur, became residence of Guru Gobind Singh, three Sahibzadas were born here. Gurudwara thara sahib and guru-ka-lahore, baoli bhai ghanaiya ji : and four more Forts are other landmarks of Anandpur Sahib.

• Gurudwara teg bahadur (Sis Ganj) : The severed head of Guru Teg Bahadur who embraced martyrdom in Delhi in 1675 in the defence of Hindu dharma was cremated here.

• Gurudwara keshgarh sahib : The Panj Piaras (five beloved ones) were baptized here Sikhs were consummated as the Khalsa-saint soldier, at this spot.

• Gurudwara anadgarh sahib : with a deep well, was used as a fort.

• Gurudwara mai jito ji : is a small (Mausoleum) of Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s wife. Gurudwara akal bunga : Guru Govind Singh Ji was coronated here as the 10th Guru.

Bhakra-Nangal 

At Bhakra is the highest dam of its kind in the world. The reservoir has been created is called Gobind Sagar.In the Gobind Sagar there is boating facility and a restaurant.  

Project Authority at Nangal Township issues permits to visitors. Accommodation is available at the Government Tourist Bungalow and at number of other rest houses at Nangal.
