Nadu consists of the fertile coastal plain mainly composed of deltas of the
Kaveri and several other streams, and hard, hilly tracts towards the west
mostly less than 600 metres above sea-level. The beautiful Nilgiri Hills in
the north-west are about 2,500 metres above sea-level. |

Fairly
wet all the year round, the State receives most of its rainfall from October
to December. As the equator is not very far off, temperatures are quite high
throughout the year
