Gorumara
National Park
is located in the Dooars plains in
North Bengal, Comprising of 80 sq. kilometers including the upper Tondu
reserve and Chapramari wildlife sanctuary, Gorumara is unique for its
diversity,This
is the most important migratory corridor of the Asiatic Elephant and
is home to the Great Indian one-horned Rhinoceros.

The exceptional wildlife of this region includes elephants,
gaurs, pigs, reptiles, birds and fishes ,in fact there is no end to listing the mammals, reptiles, fishes and
insects in the region.
Waiting at the Rhino Point or trekking down 35 to 40 minutes to the Bamni
camp adds to the thrill.

The park is a birdwatcher's
paradise with beautiful birds like Indian pied hornbill, Woodpeckers,
Sunbird, fly catcher, Minivet, Drongo, Pheasants and many more migratory
birds especially in winter. Brahmany duck is a regular visitor here and the
birds can be watched from Cukcukia, a bird watching point inside the park. The Murty Nature Interpretation center has a
beautiful geographical location. The park offers some breathtaking
landscape on the bank of rivers Murti and Raidak and mountain ranges.This
park remain closed June 15 to September 15.
